Frost Family Pumpkin Carving Party!

We had the annual Frost Family Pumpkin Carving on Thursday, October 29th. We had our traditional Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup and Chili in darling pumpkin bread bowls! It is such a fun tradition. We have been doing for at least 25 years and we have the best pictures from every year! Here are some from this year... sorry about all of the collages, but there are way too many pictures!

Here are the people who came... Grandpa Ron and Grandma Carol... Anne and Dave, Dustin, Jesse and his two kids Colby and Brexlin, Jake and Jessica and Westin... Bill and his kids Ryan, Logan and Blake (we missed you Kelly!)... Steve and Rhonda and their kids, Jordon, Kyle, Justin, Colten and Hallie... My family... and Tyler and Kristen and their kids, Ryan and Ryder! We also missed Stacey and the rest of her family (they live in St. George) and we missed Stuart and Rene' and their family! There's always next year! :o)
Ryan drew on his pumpkin face with a permanent marker, so we pretty much carved what he drew the first time. It turned out adorable!
Westin broke his arm the weekend before and couldn't carve a pumpkin. We tried desperately to get him to smile... nothing a little tickling couldn't fix!
Ridge carved his pumpkin all by himself this year! What a relief! He did a great job too! He had soooo much fun designing it and then carving it.
Here is the final tradition for our Pumpkin Carving Night... we line all of the pumpkins up on a wall and light them and then the kids line up for the picture. We have one from every year... I need to scan the old ones in and compare the years. That would be fun!
It has been really hard to keep up some of our family traditions now that our kids are getting older. Some are married with their own kids, some are serving missions, and some have school or work schedules that conflict, but we try to keep up with the traditions, especially the ones that were so close to my Mom's heart. This one was definitely one of her favorites. I know that when we get together that she is extremely happy and proud of us. Love and miss you Mom!

Trick or Treat... Smell my Feet...

It has become extremely hard to do Halloween when I essentially have two different families... the girls are so much older than the boys! This year Marlee chose to go trick-or-treating with the boys and Kenzie chose to pass out candy. Both were pretty good sports about it.

Marlee dressed up as Minnie Mouse this year, and the boys decided to be White Ninja's! I was thrilled with their choice because they wanted the $12 costume from Wal-Mart. That made my life SUPER simple!

Grandma Beverly came over just before the kids went out. She wanted to see the kids in their costumes!

The kids begged to dress up the dogs, so Addie was Queen and Taz was Nash from the Phoenix Suns. Marlee actually took them trick-or-treating with her and the boys!

I didn't get any pictures of the kids and their "loot", but I can assure you they brought home WAY too much!

FHE Dinner!

Look how cute my Mummy Chicken Pot Pie turned out! My kids are pretty impressed with me tonight! I found this idea on another site, they had made Meatloaf with lasagna noodles, but my kids won't touch Meatloaf so I improvised! I think it turned out adorable!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Disneyland for October Break

Sorry I have been so bad about blogging lately... life is way too crazy! Will I ever be bored again? I think not!

We spent October Break at Disneyland with lots of family and had the time of our lives! It was super HOT and super CROWDED! But even with that, we had a great time!

Anyone that knows my little Ryan knows that he is a wanderer! And I am not sure why I thought I could go to Disneyland and not lose him! Needless to say (and very embarrassing...you'd think I'd be used to it by now!) we lost Ryan for about 30 minutes one day. We had California Adventures on alert for a blonde haired, 6 year old wearing a navy Gap shirt! A nice Mom had found him in the middle of her group just walking along with her and turned him in! I asked him if he was scared and he said NO. He is my adventurous one!

I found these on a blog and I think they are one of the greatest inventions for parents with "adventurous" children. I definitely wish I had this BEFORE Disneyland! Check these out! They are called "Safety Tats"!

You can find them at www.safetytat.com. Some mother with my same problem was very smart and came up with this ingenious idea. I don't normally let my kids wear fake tattoos, but I think this one I would let slide! :o)

Ryan will definitely be tatted up next time we hit Disneyland! Which will hopefully be often because I got year passes for us all! I'm a glutton for punishment!

I have lots more pictures that I will post later... if I find the time! :o)

First Day of School!

Yay! Today is the first day of school! I have two at Mesa High School and two at Wilson Elementary! Talk about two separate families! I think I was supposed to cry today, but secretly I am jumping for joy! I told my girls I was going to sit on the couch and watch 17 Again and eat bon bons! Not a bad idea huh?!? I just wish I were serious! There is too much to do!

Marlee's first day of high school and Kenzie's last year of high school. She only has to go until Noon! I know I've said this before but I'm not old enough to have kids this old!

Ryan starts first grade today and Ridge is in third! Ridge tested into ELP (Extended Learning Program) this year. YUP he's gifted (jk)! I think he gets that from me! hahaha :o) Ya Right! Anyone that knows Ridge knows that he is pretty smart and takes after his dad! Lucky kid!

Well, I better get to my movie... I mean my busy day! :o)

My baby is 6!

It's hard to believe that Ryan is 6 years old! He is such a cute boy! We have really enjoyed him in our family! We weren't so sure about him when he was first born... he was a tough baby. But he is definitely pleasant now! We are constantly laughing at something he does or says. I can't believe that he is my last, but what a great kid to be the "caboose"!

I thought these candles that spell HAPPY BIRTHDAY would be so cute! Ryan decided that he wanted to put them on the cake himself. At first I thought he just stuck them on in random order, but I realized that he spelled the words right, he just ran out of room on one line! :o) How cute is that!?! A few of the letters are backwards, but that just makes it that much cuter!

Happy Birthday to you... Good thing this wasn't a video because we sounded so horrible! We are definitely not the Von Trapp family singers! SCARY!

Happy Birthday Ryan! We love you!

The Two Ryans!

This is Ryan with his cousin Ryan (my nephew Tyler's little boy) in my bathtub.  They were having a blast together!

My Ryan is a NUT! He loves to be silly!

Who takes a bath with goggles on? That would be my Ryan!

This kid makes me smile!
